Funfetti Cake Batter Dip

Easy no bake dessert dip made with cake mix, cream cheese, whipped cream and topped with sprinkles!

Ingredients

  • 1 box funfetti cake mix (white cake mix will also work)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 8- ounces whipped topping or homemade whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract I prefer clear vanilla
  • 5-7 tablespoons milk * adjust to consistency
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Heat the cake mix. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Spread the cake onto a lined baking sheet. Cook for 5 minutes, then cool before using in the dip. Or you can also microwave the cake mix in 30 second increments until an internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°F)
  • Cream cream cheese and whipped cream. In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and whipped cream (or whipped topping) together on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add cake mix. Make sure cake mix is cooled completely. Beat until completely combined.
  • Add milk and vanilla. Beat in milk and vanilla until combined.
  • Serve. Garnish with sprinkles. Serve dip immediately with strawberries, cookies (vanilla wafers, animal crackers, Teddy grahams) or graham crackers. If not serving immediately, cover and refrigerate. Before serving, let soften at room temperature.

Notes

  • If making ahead of time, store in the refrigerator, but the sprinkles can bleed color over time the longer it sits so it’s best to not garnish with sprinkles until ready to serve.
  • Dip will thicken over time as it sits.
