Ingredients

For the peanut butter bars

  • 1/2 cup (1 sticks, 113 g) unsalted butter melted
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs about 8 full sheets
  • 2 cups (240 g) confectioners' (powdered) sugar
  • 1 cup (270 g) creamy peanut butter (not natural style)

For the topping

  • 1 cup (180 g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 3 Tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup Reese's Pieces for topping the bars

Instructions

  • Line a 8x8 or 9x9 square baking pan with aluminum foil. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) melted butter, pinch of salt, graham cracker crumbs, and powdered sugar together until combined. Stir in 1 cup of peanut butter. Spread into prepared baking pan.
  • In a small bowl, melt together the peanut butter and chocolate chips. Stir until smooth. You can do this in the microwave in 30 second intervals, or in a small saucepan on the stovetop over low heat. Spread over peanut butter layer. Top with Reese's pieces.
  • Chill in the refrigerator until completely firm, at least 2 hours. Allow to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cutting.
